Entering the 2013 season, Nebraska has earned 29 postseason appearances and owns over 790 all-time wins. The Huskers have won 13 conference titles in the past 18 years, while advancing to the NCAA Championships 15 times during that span.
During their first season as members of the Big Ten Conference in 2012, the Huskers won the conference team title, while Head Coach Dan Kendig was named Big Ten Coach of the Year and Jessie DeZiel was tabbed as Big Ten Freshman of the Year. Sophomore Emily Wong won her first conference title with an All-Around victory.
A total of 45 Nebraska gymnasts have earned 130 All-America awards for the Huskers, including 11-time honorees Emily Parsons and Heather Brink. The Huskers brought home eight All-America awards in 2012, including a pair of first-team honors by freshman Jessie DeZiel. Emily Wong and Janelle Giblin each earned a first-team honor, while Wong added two second-team accolades, with DeZiel and Giblin each adding a second-team honor as well.
Nebraska has had at least one All-American every season since 1995, a total of 18 straight seasons, including 121 in Coach Dan Kendig’s 19 years as NU’s head coach. Patty Carmichael-Gerard was Nebraska’s first All-American, earning first-team honors in 1979. Nebraska also boasts three gymnasts who have won five NCAA titles, including two all-around crowns.
